Smoothies are pureed fruits and vegetables sometimes made with dairy products. Since smoothies are made up of fruits and vegetables, there are endless opportunities for variations.
For a long time, I have struggled with incorporating fruits and vegetables in my meals. I tried eating fruits and vegetables for a whole week and that is when I discovered that smoothies are the easiest way to do that. I had a lot of fun combining different fruits and vegetables. My favorite ones were the Very Berry and Citrus Mix smoothies, because why not.
My version of the very berry smoothie consists of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries with milk and/or yoghurt. I sometimes use just two types of berries and on days when I’m feeling extra, I use all four. The taste is amazing and it serves as a great snack to get you going.
For my citrus mix, I use oranges, tangerines, lemon, pineapple and mint. I add pineapple to it because of the pulp that gives it some fiber and I add the mint because of the flavor. This is by far my favorite morning smoothie. I prepare it the night before and pop it in the fridge. It serves as an amazing breakfast food that gives me the boost I need for the day.
